Experience

What does twenty years of service experience in the USA mean? And why should you trust me with your bike? Good questions! Let's get those answered.

My career in the bike industry started as a bicycle assembler at a shop in Omaha, Nebraska. I loved it. From the first moment, I was hooked on the amazing, wonderful world of bicycles. From that position in that first shop, I have done almost everything you can do in a retail location. But it was service where I found my true place.

I started working with tools when I was a young child. when I was five or so, I would help my dad work on the family car or his classic Chevy. I have always loved working with my hands, and bicycles turned out to be the perfect machines to continue that. So, through my years turning wrenches, I was happy to learn all I could. I became well-versed in classic Schwinn, Peugeot, Bianchi, Colnago, and many others. I was drawn to the weird idiosyncrasies of old bikes from different places and different bike cultures. I've fixed, Built, and restored classic bicycles from all over the world in my twenty years. Of course, not all of my experience is on older machines.

Being in an industry that likes to develop technology as fast as Mathieu van der Poel means that I am always learning the new stuff as well: Di2, e-Tap, E-bikes of all kinds, Fox suspension, Rock Shox, Zipp... You name it, I've most likely done it. I have been certified through Sram's STU, Shimano's Pro Service, and multiple e-bike platforms. Customers have given me the honor of building their dream bike - actually, one customer had me build five different dream bikes for him and his wife!

I only say these things so that you will have an idea of my experience. I say this so that you will know that your bike is in capable hands.
